This book argues that, despite its so-called ÔorthodoxyÕ, the classical doctrine of the Trinity is unbiblical. There is no scriptural text that teaches the ÔthreenessÕ of God. The Trinitarian ÔPersonsÕ, God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit cannot be identified in scripture.
According to the Bible Jesus Christ is the begotten Son of God, not the incarnation of an ÔEternal SonÕ. Scriptural texts that appear to show a pre-existent ÔEternal SonÕ show nothing of the kind. Texts used to support a Trinity have better interpretations in terms of the one God who manifests himself as Word and Spirit.
